The Glow Edit

Amelia Byrd

Glowy skin is having a major moment—and we’re not talking about the disco ball-style highlighters of 2016. These days, it’s all about that fresh, lit-from-within radiance that makes people say, “Wow, your skin looks amazing!” (We hear that a lot at London Beauty—and yes, we love telling people it’s not magic, it’s just great product placement.)

The trick? Knowing how to boost your skin’s natural glow without going full sparkle. Whether you’re going for a no-makeup look or a full face, adding a little luminosity can make everything feel fresher, healthier, and more put together.

Start with Skin

Your glow starts before makeup even enters the picture. That means exfoliating regularly (hello, Omorovicza's Refining Facial Polisher), staying hydrated (yes, water—but also a great moisturizer), and giving your skin a little love when you can. We love quick fixes like under-eye patches, hydrating masks, and anything that makes you feel like you’ve got it together—even if you’re multi-tasking your way through your morning.

If your skin is dry or lackluster, try a lightweight balm or hydrating primer before foundation. Something like Omorovicza's Queen Cream or a nourishing facial oil under makeup will give you that healthy, dewy base that makes everything else pop.

Glow Where It Matters

Now that your skin’s prepped, let’s talk makeup. Instead of reaching for a blinding highlighter, think of glow as part of your overall complexion. Tinted moisturizers, luminous foundations, and cream blushes with a hint of sheen are your best friends. Products like Rituel de Fille’s Inner Glow Crème Pigment or Westman Atelier’s Lit Up Highlight Stick give a natural finish that catches the light just enough.

If you do want to add a highlighter, keep it soft. Look for creamy, balmy textures that melt into the skin. Tap a bit onto your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, or your cupid’s bow. We love shades like Peau de Peche or Phosphene for that barely-there radiance.

Less Is More (Really)

The biggest glow mistake? Overdoing it. One well-placed swipe of luminous product is usually enough to give you that healthy-skin vibe. Bonus points if you apply it with your fingers and blend it in—it’ll warm the product and make it melt into the skin beautifully.

Build Your Glow Wardrobe

Radiant skin isn’t one-size-fits-all. You might love a fresh-faced cream blush in summer and lean into something golden and glossy for a winter dinner party. Keep a few go-to glow boosters in your bag like a liquid highlight and don’t be afraid to experiment. It’s makeup, not a tattoo.
